Brief Counselling Service
Healthcare Providers and Mental Health - Adult & Senior
Provided by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - North and West Vancouver Branch
This short-term, affordable service is provided for adults who do not have an open claim with ICBC, WCB or any other insurance carrier and have a realistic potential to benefit from short-term counselling. At this time, they are only able to provide individual counselling.
Support is available for those experiencing a difficult time or life transition, facing important decisions or relationship challenges, or seeking tools to manage stress, anxiety, depression, or anger.
Two tiers of counselling professionals are available:
- Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC): $70/session for individuals. Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC’s) have a Master’s degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. They are overseen by a regulatory body that enforces ethical standards of practice and encourages clinicians to continue to update their skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Intern Counsellors: $35/session for individuals. Master’s level counselling interns are in the final year of professional training and have been studying the field of counselling psychology for seven years. They are supervised by the Counselling Coordinator.
