PIRS offers the following online services, open to newcomer women of all ages and experiences:
- Community English Classes for Women: Program allows participants to practice and improve their English language skills, make friends, gain self-confidence, and learn more about Canada.
- Moving Forward: an Intermediate English program. We welcome immigrant or refugee women who speak lower Intermediate English and are ready to start exploring their options: continuing education, networking, volunteering and career opportunities.
- One-on-One Support: Community Navigators provide one-on-one support and help you adjust to your new life in Canada.
- Children and Family Programs
- Outreach Support: offers ongoing outreach support via chat groups or one-on-one messaging or phone calls for new immigrant and refugee women, who are experiencing multiple barriers and require support to positively adjust to their new life in Canada (and the new social context due to the pandemic).
- Women’s Leadership and Development Programs: Offers programs designed to extend the learning of English into the acquisition of community-based self-development and leadership skills.
- Volunteer opportunities
- LEAD: This program is designed for newcomer women who speak enough English (Canadian Language Benchmark 5) and are interested in self-development, curious about job-readiness, training, or higher education.
Other services includes:
Building Bridges: A four-month-long program for women who want to explore career options and understand the Canadian workplace culture.
Trauma Training: Provides specific workshops, webinars, and resource guides to better understand the effects of migration journey trauma
