Provides support and assistance to those patients living with a serious illness as well as to their families and other caregivers. Support includes companionship, navigation, advocacy, emotional support through illness, grief, and bereavement
The Paul Sugar Palliative Support Foundation and the Palliative Support Centre provide:
  • A place to go, where you will be accepted, no matter your situation or how you feel
  • A place to call, a sense of security in the face of difficulties
  • A place to go or call where you are known and where there is some continuity
  • A place where you know that you will be heard, that your concerns will be treated with respect and that what you have to say will be accepted
  • A place where you will be given the time you need
Services Include:
  • Practical support, Emotional and Social support, Financial support
  • Offers educational series intended to provide information relating to living with a serious illness, end-of-life care, loss, and grief
  • Offers Group sessions: Therapeutic Touch / Gentle Touch, Guided Imagery Meditation, Yoga, Advanced Care Planning, and social support groups.
  • Offers one-on-one sessions: Craniosacral Therapy, Acupuncture, Lymphatic Drainage Massage


The programs are designed for individuals living with and dying from a serious illness, their families and caregivers, as well as community members wanting to volunteer to help those in need. There is no cost for any of these programs.
