Infant Development Program

Provided by North Shore Disability Resource Network

Program serves children from birth to three years old who are at risk for, or who already have a delay in development.
This program is for families of infants and children birth to 3 years old who are experiencing delays in their development or who are at risk for developmental delay are eligible for the Infant Development Program. Participation in the program is voluntary and all services are provided free of charge.
It’s an opportunity for parents to:
  • Learn ways to encourage your child’s development
  • Meet other parents
  • Discuss parenting issues
  • Make the best use of other community resources and activities

For your baby to:
  • Become more independent
  • Discover abilities
  • Learn new skills

Families play a vital role in every child’s development. Physical, social, emotional, behavioural, communication and intellectual development depend in part on experiences provided by the infant’s family.

Home visits are made on a regular basis by professional staff to assist the family in planning learning activities and to utilize appropriate community resources. Opportunities for parents to meet and support each other are provided through regular drop-in groups and classes organized on topics of interest to families. Resource library materials of books and toys are also available for loan to families.
