Violence and Homeless Prevention Programs

Provided by North Shore Crisis Services Society (NSCSS)

Offers a suite of programs to support individuals and families facing abuse and/or are at risk of homelessness.
The following programs are offered:
  • The Good Stuff Connection Clothing Program: Ensures that clean, quality donated goods are provided free of charge.
  • Homeless Prevention Program: Provides portable rent supplements and support services to women experiencing (or are at risk of) domestic violence and facing homelessness. With HPP the aim is to help people keep their housing or find new suitable housing options.
  • PEACE Program: A program for children & youth ages 3 - 18 who experienced violence at home. This program provides supportive counselling and education to children and youth who have been impacted by family violence. Support is provided in both one-on-one and group settings, and is available to residents in our supportive housing programs as well as the North Shore public.
  • Outreach Services & Multicultural Outreach Program: Offers support and advocacy, assistance with housing, family court, criminal justice systems, immigration services, and referrals to the appropriate community resources as provided by fellow like-minded social service agencies. Culturally-informed services are offered to women and their families who identify as immigrant and refugee peoples. Support is offered in English, Farsi, and Dari. Interpreter services are offered as well.
