Multi-Cultural Support Counselling Programs

Free, confidential counselling support for adults in multiple languages. Includes one-on-one counselling, psycho-educational support groups, advocacy support, and referrals to other relevant resources.
Refugee Settlement and Integration Program: Provides support services, direction, and guidance as you settle in Canada.

Counselling Support for Victims of Violence: Stopping the Violence Counselling offers free, confidential counselling support and multicultural outreach services for women who have experienced or are at risk of, abuse, threats, or violence in an intimate relationship, sexual assault or childhood abuse. Staff is trained to work within multicultural communities with women from diverse cultural backgrounds. Services are provided in English, Punjabi, and Hindi. Call to make an appointment.

Settlement Support for Temporary Residents: Through the BC Settlement and Integration Services (BCSIS) program, the program provides essential support services, employment guidance, training, community referrals, and other support for temporary residents of Canada. Clients of all backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and genders are welcome.

Multicultural Victim Services: This program serves the specific needs of multicultural and immigrant people. Provides a free and confidential program to support victims of all crimes in Vancouver in their recovery. You do not need to report a crime to the police to receive help. In addition to providing comprehensive support services, our Multicultural Victim Services Program provides information to different communities about violence against women, safety assessment and planning, and our services. Services are available to all immigrants, refugees and multicultural populations of all genders and all crimes in Vancouver. Call to make an appointment.

Services for newcomer LGBTQIA+ Refugees: I Belong supports LGBTQIA2+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning) immigrant newcomers by facilitating discussions around sexuality, gender, race, culture, and class. Group and one-on-one services are delivered in English. Wellness Workshops for Men: Anger Management Care Program is a unique program offered to men who desire to learn more about anger management care. This program provides free resources and interpretation services to multilingual clients upon request.

Mental Health and Community Support: The Newcomer Wellness Hub (NWH), funded by Bell Let’s Talk, provides mental health and community support for those new to Canada. The program provides family and individual clinical counselling and group activities to promote mental wellness as you settle in Canada.

Afghan Refugee Resettlement Initiative: MOSAIC has committed to facilitating the resettlement of as many Afghan refugees as possible through our private sponsorship of the refugees program from 2021-2024. The situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated, and the country has experienced significant displacement and a humanitarian crisis. MOSAIC stands with our community members who are directly impacted during this heartbreaking and uncertain time.

Support for Healthy Multicultural Relationships: The Enhancing Healthy Relationships Program is for immigrant, refugee, and visible minority couples at risk of experiencing or perpetrating domestic violence. The program focuses on building stronger family relationships and encouraging change within couples. Our support team gives couples the information and skills to stop or reduce domestic violence.

Preventing Relationship Violence: The Relationship Violence Prevention Program-Cultural Edition (RVPP-CE) is for men who have used violence in relationships in the past and to help them learn to prevent these acts from happening in the future. This is a court-mandated program, and referrals are received only from B.C. Corrections Probation Officers.

Support for Healthy Multicultural Relationships: Program focuses on preventing the occurrence or recurrence of domestic violence by supporting men to take responsibility for their actions and work toward changing their behaviour. The program is available in English and Spanish. Interpreters may be used for additional languages. Group meetings take place in the evening, and individual counselling in the daytime. All referrals are accepted, including self-referral.

One-on-One Support for Seniors: CARES for Seniors helps older adults get help and support when they need it. Which includes improving overall wellness, referrals for more help, increasing confidence, and making day-to-day tasks easier.

Men Supporting Healthy Relationships: Men in Change program focuses on preventing the occurrence or recurrence of domestic violence by supporting men to take responsibility for their actions and work toward changing their behaviour.
